🍖 Recipe: Stittsworth State Fair-Style Pork Chop on a Stick
A Minnesota classic made better with Stittsworth pork. Thick, breaded, and fried until golden -- the ultimate fair food experience at home.
Ingredients
- 4 Stittsworth Pork Chops (1-inch thick)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Oil for frying
- Wooden skewers or sticks
Instructions
- Pat the Stittsworth Pork Chops dry with paper towels.
- Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
- Coat each pork chop in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in egg, then coat generously with panko.
- Insert a wooden skewer through the side of each breaded chop.
- Heat oil to 350°F in a deep pan or fryer.
- Fry pork chops for 4--5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F.
- Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
Pro Tip: Let the Stittsworth pork chops come to room temperature before frying so the interior cooks evenly without the coating burning.
